Dana M. Adams, PA-C, MS, ATC

Dana M. Adams, PA-C, MS, ATC, is originally from Bedford, Virginia. She earned her bachelor’s degree in sports medicine from Radford University and went on to complete her master’s degree in athletic training at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Shortly thereafter, she decided to expand her ability to positively impact the lives of others by completing physician assistant training at Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, now Radford University Carilion. Dana began her career as a physician assistant in orthopedics before transitioning to pain management at the Pain Management Center of Roanoke.

After three years, she joined Blue Ridge Pain Management in 2013. While Dana enjoys treating all types of chronic pain, her clinical focus shifted toward cancer pain and intrathecal pump therapies in 2023 after attending a Medtronic Pump Summit in Denver, Colorado. Since then, working with patients with cancer and their families to provide dignity and improve quality of life has become a central focus of her practice. She works closely with oncology, neurosurgery, and interventional radiology teams to support this mission.

Dana was recently invited by Medtronic to participate in a four-person panel discussing cancer pain and intrathecal therapies at an advanced practice provider educational program in Richmond, Virginia. She is also an active member of the Virginia Pain Society and the Pain Medicine Academy of Advanced Practice Providers.
